Wow - aside from the Day Four fiasco caused by over medicating, I feel good. My energy level is high and I've been able to do alot of things that normally tire me out. On what would have been Day Five, I cleaned my entire house with hardly any resting. And today, the day after my pseudo 5 day juice fast, I walked a brisk 10 minute walk to the bank and then back to work with out any huffing or puffing. This is marked improvement and how my body behaves on my really good days.
So suffice it to say, I want to stick with the juicing. It is difficult to do ONLY juice, partly because I was tired of making it. If I was rich and someone was making it for me and handing it to me at the designated time, it would be easier to stick with it. But really this shouldn't be an excuse.
I am planning to do the following: in evening for dinner, make a juice drink and drink half of it with my dinner. Then save the other half for the following morning with breakfast. This way I'm getting the juice nutrients twice a day, and the amount of drink is not overwhelming at one time.
For eating, I will stick with as many fresh fruits and vegetables as possible following that mantra of 'close to the earth'. I will eat chicken too. Examples of meals might be:
Breakfast - fruit with green juice
Lunch - salad, fruit, nuts, veggies
Dinner - chicken breast, salad, veggies, green juice
Snacks - fruit, nuts veggies
Seems a little heavy on the fruits and veggies so I should probably do some reading to make sure I'm getting my nutrients.
I'll avoid fast food and as much processed food as possible but realistically I will not be perfect at this. For example, this evening I took my grandson to the mall's food court for dinner and we had chinese. I ate black pepper 'chicken' with a little bit of rice and then had 1 piece of See's candy. When I use to eat 10 pieces at a time, 1 piece is sufficient LOL. And really, 1 piece satisfied me and I probably could have eaten just half of it. So not perfect, but really good.
And last but not least, now it is time to start exercising too. At least 15 minutes 3 times a week. As I increase endurance, I'll increase this but my body requires me to start small or else I relapse into exhaustion.
Thanks for joining me on my journey. 2013 - the year of the green :)
